The Local Development Framework

The spatial planning system is made up of a system of Regional Spatial Strategies and Local Development Frameworks (LDFs). The Local Development Framework will provide the vision and guide the development of the District up to 2026. The diagram below illustrates how the LDF takes the form of a portfolio of different Local Development Documents (LDDs) dealing with different aspects of spatial planning. Whilst the LDF is produced by the District Council the responsibility for producing the Regional Spatial Strategy lies with the West Midlands Regional Assembly (with some involvement from the County Councils). Worcestershire County Council remains responsible for Waste and Minerals planning.

Further information on minerals and waste planning is available on the Worcestershire County Council website.
