Community Safety
The district is already a safe place to live, work and
visit. However, even the relatively low levels of crime and
disorder, anti-social behaviour and fear of crime that are
experienced can have a significant impact on local people's lives
and the harmony of our rural and urban communities.
Community Safety is about improving the quality of life for all
those living and working in the Wyre Forest district.
The Council is working in partnership with Hereford and Worcester
Fire and Rescue Service, West Mercia Police, West Mercia Police
Authority, Worcestershire County Council, Worcestershire Primary
Care Trust and a range of other agencies to act on reducing crime,
anti-social behaviour and increasing public reassurance within the
Wyre Forest district.
The Partnership is called the Wyre Forest Community Safety
Partnership and was established in August 1998.
What is the Wyre Forest Community Safety Partnership's
Vision?
The Partnership's vision is:
"Wyre Forest: an even safer place to live, work, visit and do
business in"
To achieve this, partners will:
- Tackle the causes of crime and anti-social behaviour;
- Reduce the opportunity for such acts;
- Target specific problems;
- Prevent repeat victimisation; and
- Increase public reassurance.
Following the 2006 review of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998,
the Partnership is required to carry out an annual strategic
assessment of the level of crime, disorder and the harm caused by
drugs and alcohol in the area.
The results of the assessment are then used to inform the
development of a 3 year rolling Partnership Plan to reduce crime
and disorder and to tackle the causes.

- Violent Crime
- Public Perception of Crime

across all priorities.
