Views sought on Cabinet proposals
Residents are being asked for their views on
the budget proposals being put forward by Wyre Forest District
Council’s Cabinet.
Wyre Forest District Council is conducting an
online questionnaire to find out what residents think about Council
Tax levels, proposals for savings and opinions on areas for
spending.
Complete the survey here.
The Cabinet’s budget proposals include
measures to tackle the financial pressures placed on the authority
due to the economic downturn. The revenue budget is what the
District Council uses for the day to day running of services such
as waste and recycling collections, planning and building control
and parks and play areas.
The Cabinet is proposing to freeze its element
of Council Tax. Other plans being consulted on include
setting up a fund to help economic regeneration, reducing the
number of Councillors and creating ‘splash parks’.
Councillor Nathan Desmond, Wyre Forest
District Council’s Cabinet Member for Resources said,
“We have put forward a wide range of measures
to tackle the difficult financial position we find ourselves
in. The online survey is a quick and easy way for residents
to let us know their views on our plans. ”
Anyone who does not have access to a computer
can fill in the questionnaire online at one of the Worcestershire
Hub Customer Service Centres at Kidderminster Town Hall or Civic
Centre, Stourport-on-Severn or in the district libraries.
Printed copies of the questionnaire are also available from the
Worcestershire Hubs. The closing date for responses is
February 3rd 2012.
A decision on the final budget will be made by
full Council on 29th February 2012.
