Jubilee Fund Boost Community Celebrations
A special community fund has been launched to enable local
people to plan sparkling events to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee
next June.
Wyre Forest District Council is awarding grants from £50 to
£1000 to community groups who want to celebrate 60 years of The
Queen's reign.
Councillor Tracey Onslow, Cabinet Member for Community Wellbeing
at Wyre Forest District Council said,
"This is an exciting 'one off' opportunity and we'd like to see
as many local people as
possible celebrating this special occasion over the
weekend of 2nd to 5th June. So if you're
planning a local event in your neighbourhood such as a street
party, lunch in the park, tree planting or even a street parade,
you can apply for a grant to help with expenses and do something
extra special in your community."
Apply online or email Sue Harper at Wyre
Forest District Council. She can also be contact on

Nationally Sunday 3rd June 2012 will be "The Big
Jubilee Lunch" building on the Big Lunch initiative. People will be
encouraged to share lunch with neighbours and friends as part of
the celebrations
