Bewdley Museum Opens for Half Term
Bewdley Museum is opening its doors to the public earlier than
originally planned. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy this
popular attraction from 19th to 27th February
between 12 noon and 4pm.
Volunteer Delphine de Noire from Kidderminster has been helping
to get together materials for the special opening. She said,
“There will be lots for people to do, as well as the usual
activities there will be a chance to find out about the life of our
ancient ancestors as the clock is turned back to the Anglo Saxon
days with hands-on-activities.”
Most of the museum will be open to the public except for the
herb garden and brass foundry which will remain closed. This
is because an exciting project is underway to create a wildlife
pond in this area. Visitors will not have to wait long to see the
results, as the project is due to be finished by
1st April, when the museum opens every day form 10am –
4.30pm for the new season.
Councillor Tracey Onslow, Wyre Forest District
Council’s Cabinet Member for Community and Partnership Services
said,
“The half term week is always busy in Bewdley,
and we have already had more enquiries than ever asking when the
museum will be opening. It makes good sense to open for this week,
to support tourism and give Wyre Forest residents somewhere on
their doorstep to enjoy with friends and family.”
Entry to the museum is free.
