Register to vote - don't delay
Wyre Forest District Council is asking
residents to make sure they register to vote by completing the
voter registration form that will be delivered to every home from
the end of August. Any person who is over 18 can register to
vote and, by doing so, you’ll be included on the new electoral
register and able to vote at future elections.
Ian Miller, Electoral Registration Officer for
Wyre Forest District Council said,
“By registering as soon as you receive your
form you ensure you have your right to vote and help the Council
save money, as thi means it does not have to send reminders.
Registering to vote is quick and easy. There are pre-printed
details of people currently registered for the property. You
can simply complete, sign and post the form back to us. If
there are no changes to the elector details, you have the option to
register by internet, freephone and also text."
The Register, which contains the details of
Wyre Forest Electors who will be able to vote, will be published on
1st December 2011. It will be available at
libraries in the district, the Civic Centre in Stourport-on-Severn
and the Worcestershire Hub in Kidderminster.
The Register is also used by credit reference
agencies and residents may be refused any credit (e.g. mortgage or
credit card) if they are not included. There is also a fine
of £1,000 should the form not be returned.
Further information on registration, voting by post or by proxy,
is available on the Election Information pages of the
website. Residents can also call Customer Services on 01562
732928, or visit the Worcestershire Hub at Kidderminster,
Stourport-on-Severn or Bewdley.
