More Voters In Wyre Forest
Wyre Forest District Council has announced
that the number of people registered to vote in the local elections
and referendum on 5 May has increased by over 640 people or about
0.8 per cent compared to the elections held in May 2010.
Ian Miller, the electoral registration
officer, said "The number of people on the electoral register now
stands at 77,776 compared to 77,133 a year ago.
"There has been faster growth in the number of
people choosing to vote by post. 10,848 electors have chosen to
vote by post, an increase of 450 or over 4% compared to 2010.
Postal voting packs will be delivered to them from 19 April
onwards."
The polls on 5 May are being held to elect 14
councillors for the district council and to elect parish
councillors in Bewdley West, Blakedown, Stourport-on-Severn and
Wolverley, together with the national referendum about the voting
system for Parliamentary elections.
