Green Energy Advice at Bewdley Harvest

Help and advice on saving energy and money will be on offer at
the Bewdley Harvest Fair on 25th and 26th
September.
Wyre Forest District Council has teamed up
with local businesses to set up an area showcasing renewable energy
technology and energy efficiency measures as part of the event.
Information will be available about the new
Feed-in Tariff, which pays people who install renewable energy
systems, such as solar photovoltaic panels, for the electricity
produced, as well as saving them money on their energy bills. There
will also be information about the council’s renewable energy
grant, Residents and community groups can apply for a grant of up
to £1000 towards the cost of installing renewable heating systems,
such as solar water heating and ground source heat pumps.

Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Environment said,
“This is a great opportunity to find out more
about renewable energy and how it can be installed systems in
homes. Renewable energy systems help cut carbon emissions as
well as saving residents money on their fuel bills. The
schemes on offer are all part of the Council’s commitment to
tackling climate change in the Wyre Forest”.
The companies who will be at the event
include: Eco2 Solar who supply and install solar heating and
photovoltaic systems, Ecostoves, who will be giving help and advice
on wood burning and multi-fuel stoves, Gammond/Bosch, who will have
a display truck of heat and air pumps, Marches Energy Trust, who
will provide advice on insulation grants and energy saving bulbs,
and energy company E-on.
