Council's Chief Executive delivers first annual report
The Chief Executive of Wyre Forest District Council, Ian Miller,
has provided councillors with his first annual report. It will be
discussed at the Council's meeting on Wednesday 29 September.
Commenting on the report, Mr Miller said "This is my first
annual report to the Council. It deals with the main developments
over the nine months that I have been in Wyre Forest as well as
looking ahead to the issues and challenges facing the Council over
the coming years. Inevitably, the report refers to the consequences
of reductions in Government funding for councils which will be
announced in next month's Comprehensive Spending Review. It
outlines the options that we are already working on to ensure that
the Council is well-placed to respond.
"However the report also provides an important opportunity to
reflect on the changes and improvements that have already been
made, and to pay tribute to the contribution that staff at all
levels in the organisation have made to the Council's
achievements.
"I wanted to bring in the idea of an annual report and this was
agreed by the Council in February. I hope the report will help to
engage all members of the Council in discussion on the recent
changes that have been successfully put in place and how we are
preparing for the tough decisions that lie ahead so that we
continue to provide value for money services that our communities
demand."
