Have Your Say on Churchfields
Residents are asked for their views on the
future of a major regeneration area next to the Horsefair in
Kidderminster.
The Churchfields area of town, once dominated
by carpet factories, has already been highlighted through the
ReWyre Initiative and Kidderminster Regeneration Prospectus as an
area for potential change. The Prospectus introduced the idea of
this area as being a new urban village, linking in with the
existing Horsefair community as well as the town centre.
The area is one of the largest regeneration
opportunities in the District and Wyre Forest District Council are
working with West Midland’s charity MADE to develop a master plan
of area to help guide its future development.
On Friday 26th and Saturday 27th November a
drop-in consultation event will be taking place in the shop at 55
Blackwell Street in the Horsefair from 10am to 4pm. The event is
aimed at getting the views of local people to help development the
plan and contribute to the future of the area.
The consultation event will be hosted by
members the master planning team who will be present to discuss the
future of the area. MADE have also created a 3D model of the area
to assist with the consultation.
Councillor Stephen Clee, Cabinet Member for
Regeneration said:
“MADE have created a model of the Churchfields
area and visitors to the consultation event will be able to see how
the area looks at the moment and tell us what they would like to
see in the future. I hope that many people will take advantage of
this opportunity to come along and share their views.”
