Public meeting over public art
A meeting has been organised for the community to have its say
on the public art which is to be installed in the Horsefair,
Kidderminster.
It is being held on Thursday 18th March 2010, at 7pm
at The Salvation Army, Kidderminster Corps, Jerusalem Walk,
Kidderminster, DY10 2NP.
Artist Finn Stone has been chosen by Wyre Forest District
Council to create a unique lighting feature for the Horsefair
triangle. The £12,000 funding for the public artwork was
provided by Cox Homes, through a planning agreement. It can
only by spent on public artwork.
The meeting will include a presentation on how the art project
will develop and fit into the larger Rewyre regeneration project
within the town.
Councillor Marcus Hart, Wyre Forest District Council's Cabinet
Member for Community and Partnership Services said,
"We want people to come along to the meeting and hear from us
what this project is all about, how it has been funded and also
provide us with their ideas. There has been a lot of interest
in the project and we'd like this to turn into feedback and get the
community involvement that's been requested."
Anyone who can not attend the meeting can still give the Council
their views by completing a
comments card
(72K). These are also available from The
Worcestershire Hub, Vicar Street Kidderminster or Nisa Local, 28,
The Horsefair, Kidderminster. The cards need to be posted in
the boxes at these locations by Thursday 1st April.
