Important information on refuse collection dates
Wyre Forest District Council is in the process of rolling out
new arrangements for the collection of recyclable material. In the
next few weeks residents will start to receive their new green
wheeled bin which will enable a greater range of materials to be
recycled.
As part of the implementation plan we are changing the day of
the week that refuse is collected. This will mean that one week the
refuse is collected and the same day the following week the
recycling is collected.
The Council makes collections to around 45,000 properties within
the district and is working extremely hard on the new arrangements.
However, it has come to our attention that there has been an error
in some of the information which has been sent to around 15,000
properties. Revised information is being prepared and will start to
be delivered to all those properties affected tomorrow.
The Council would like to apologise to residents for this error,
which we are taking steps to correct quickly. It is essential that
clear and correct information is available to local
householders.
The day of the week that the refuse and recycling will be
collected under the new scheme has been correctly notified: the
error relates purely to the week in which the new arrangements
start.
Councillor Nathan Desmond, Cabinet Member for Resources
said,
"The Council is pleased about the new arrangements for the
collection of refuse and recycling. It is unfortunate that this
error has occurred and we are taking all necessary steps to correct
this as soon as possible. We would ask our residents to continue to
work with us to ensure that we become one of the leading areas for
the recycling of household waste"
