Recycle Week 2010
Worcestershire County Council is celebrating
Recycle Week 2010 this week (June 21-27) by saying to all residents
'Let's Waste Less'.
Worcestershire County Council and Wyre Forest
District Council are working together to provide a common and
simple system for the collection of recycling from residents.
Residents in the Wyre Forest area can recycle
more materials including plastic containers, all cardboard and
cartons.
The collection of these additional materials
has been made possible by the new EnviroSort facility at Norton.
The materials are taken to EnviroSort where they are sorted by
machines and by hand.
The machinery at EnviroSort works best when
the recycling is in its original state (for example by leaving
paper flat) loose and clean.
Councillor Nathan Desmond, Wyre Forest
District Council’s Cabinet Member for Resources said
”National Recycle Week is a great idea and an
important message for us all. At Wyre Forest we are trying to make
recycling easier with the introduction of a wheeled bin to replace
the boxes. As a further measure, local residents can now recycle
all their unwanted garden waste. Lets Waste Less is an important
message at any time, and we are happy to be supporting this.”
