MP to talk Buisness with Leaders
Local business leaders are joining new Wyre Forest MP Mark
Garnier at a Wyre Forest Business Leaders meeting this Friday (11th
June). The meeting will be the first Business Leaders meeting to be
chaired by Mark Garnier at Stourport Manor Hotel, Hartlebury Road,
Stourport-on-Severn.
The event is aimed at strategic decision
makers in local businesses and has been organised by Wyre Forest
District Council who will be sharing the latest developments on the
Kidderminster ReWyre initiative. Leading figures from both
the District and County Councils will attend the meeting which will
provide an opportunity for business leaders to air their views and
ask questions.
Mark Garnier MP said,
“I have always been struck by the unique mix
of opportunities and challenges facing Wyre Forest District.
Everyone is aware of the national and international economic
climate, but amongst the pessimism there are some great ideas and
opportunities emerging as local people start to innovate and
consider the future. The Kidderminster ReWyre Initiative is a
classic example of this thinking and I look forward to hearing more
about this initiative and the level of business engagement at the
meeting on Friday.
“In my early meetings with the District
Council I have discovered a genuine enthusiasm to engage
businesses. It is clear that we are collectively open to new ideas
and would like to see how we can all work together to ensure that
Wyre Forest is open for business and investment during these
critical times.”
The District Council’s Cabinet Member for
Planning and Regeneration, Councillor Stephen Clee said,
“It is clear that the organisations that put
themselves on the map and present a positive and achievable vision
of the future will be well placed to attract investment. We are
looking to work with businesses to get that recipe right. This is a
great opportunity and potential forum for our business leaders to
air their views to the local MP and local authorities.”
