Summer Bands are back!
Music lovers are in for a treat with this year's Summer Programme
of outdoor concerts organised by Wyre Forest District Council.
In total 14 FREE concerts are open to anyone wanting to enjoy a
Sunday afternoon listening to live music in great local venues.
Brinton Park, Kidderminster hosts a series of 6 bands on
consecutive Sundays starting on 25th July running
through to 29th August 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm.
This year's Kidderminster programme starts off with a new band
to the park 'Lyvewyre' who will perform Rock & Roll and 50s
music on 25th July.
The programme continues with Country band 'The Mike Ryan Trio'
on 1st August, 60s music from 'Three Penny Bit' on
8th August, followed by 'The Crown Phoenix Band' on
15th who will be bringing alive the swing era with
the sound of Glenn Miller. 22nd August sees a
performance from locals 'Stourport Brass Band' and the programme
concludes with Modern & Classic Rock from another new band to
the park 'Jake'.

| Ska/Brit Pop band 'Perfect Strangers' will kick-start the
season at Stourport Riverside bandstand on 1st August, followed by
a performance by local group 'The Lady and The Sax' (8th
August) performing a mix of Jazz, Blues/Swing & Rock n'
Roll. |

The final concert at Stourport on 15th August will be
a welcome return to the, always popular, Tropical Islanders, who
will be bringing a taste of the Caribbean to the Riverside by
playing their steel drums.
All Stourport concerts take place between 2.30 pm – 4.30
pm.
Over at Bewdley, the beautiful QEII Jubilee gardens provide the
perfect backdrop for a series of 5 concerts, beginning with a
concert from The Dublin Jacks (Irish/Folk music)
sponsored by 'The Friends of Bewdley Museum' on 1st August.
8th August sees a first time visit from 'Holborne
Brass Ensemble', followed by an appearance on 15th
August from local musician Katy Bennett who will be performing a
mix of 'folk, Jazz, Pop & Rustica' as part of duo
'KTB'. The penultimate concert comes from popular Irish/Folk
band 'De Kelten' with the season ending with Jazz favourites 'The
Zenith Hot Stompers'
Bewdley concerts take place between 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm and can be
combined with a FREE visit to Bewdley Museum where refreshments can
be purchased from the 'Food Foundry café'.
