Bowling your way to health

Members of a Stourport walking group will be trying their hand at Bowling thanks to a new partnership between Best Foot Forward and Stourport Bowling Club.

Best Foot Forward - part of a Health Initiative provided by Wyre Forest District Council and members of Stourport Bowling Club - would like to invite local residents to join them at this event on Wednesday 10th March.

The event starts at 2pm at Stourport Bowling Club with a one hour walk led by a qualified walk leader around Stourport. Then, all walkers are invited back to the Bowling club where there will be refreshments on offer and the opportunity to have a go at indoor Bowls.

You don't need any specialist equipment to join the walk, just a pair of comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate to the day's weather conditions. The walk route will take in some of Stourport's Riverside and will follow flat and even footpaths. All abilities and experience welcome. For more information, contact David Tidmarsh, Walking Co-ordinator at Wyre Forest District Council on 01562 732942.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Wyre Forest District Council's Cabinet Member for Community and Partnership Services said

"Walking is a great way to remain active, lose weight and enjoy the local countryside. Combining a local walk with a bowling session is an imaginative way to get active and meet new people too."
