Flying High at Lickhill Park
Despite the wet weather on Wednesday 4th August,
hundreds of families visiting Playday Stourport enjoyed a fun
packed afternoon.
The hills of Lickhill Memorial Park were alive with the sound of
music as young stars took to the karaoke stage. The Circus School
thrilled children and parents alike, challenging balance and
coordination with expert tuition from unicyclist extraordinaire
Steve Kaos.
Serious thrill seekers saw the park from a very different
perspective somersaulting to dizzying heights on the bungee
trampolines or scaling the highest mobile climbing wall in the
UK.
Boys and girls, young and old, fantastic activities were
accessible for all at Wyre Forest Playday events this summer. The
theme this year was 'Our Place' putting children at the heart of
the community, encouraging everyone to create a better environment
to live and play. To celebrate the theme children painted a
fabulous 'Our Place' Playday sign.
Councillor Tracey Onslow, Wyre Forest District Council's Cabinet
Member for Community and Partnership Services said,
"The summer holidays are all about children playing outside and
enjoying themselves and Playday events bring a whole host of
activities to keep our children busy. It's just part of a
programme of events which Wyre Forest District Council has
organised for children over the summer
" Playday events have finished for this year but there are still 3
full weeks of activities available including reptile days with real
Rangers, crafty days at Bewdley Museum and even a Street Dance
course. Guarantee your child a space by visiting the
Summer Brochure or call the booking line
on 01562 732984.
