Recycle Your Old Bras and "Support" Local Charity
Wyre Forest District Council is collecting unwanted bras for the
2nd Skin Lingerie Bra Chain, an initiative designed to
help raise funds for Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.
The District Council are always looking at new ideas to reduce
waste and increase recycling. By collecting unwanted bras it
raises the profile of recycling and helps a local charity.
Councillor Nathan Desmond, Wyre Forest District Council's
Cabinet Member for Resources said,
"We're always looking for more ways to increase recycling.
We are good at recycling clothing through charity shops and textile
banks but many women don't think to donate their bras. By
recycling bras not only will less waste be sent to landfill but we
are helping raise money for the Worcestershire Breast Unit
Campaign. This is a great chance to put unwanted underwear to
good use, so please donate your old bras."
As well as Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign there are a
number of organisations that will benefit from the bra recycling
initiative including Women's Aid UK, Breast Cancer Breakthrough and
Breast Cancer Care UK.
Wyre Forest residents are already recycling more materials but
previously bras have not been included but now there are bra
recycling boxes located at the Kidderminster Town Hall and the
Civic Centre in Stourport-on-Severn to make it easier to donate
your unwanted bras.

Breast Unit Campaign, please contact Karen Tomalin on 01527 570229
