Last chance to register to vote

Wyre Forest District Council is asking residents to make sure that they are on the electoral register and not to miss the deadline for registering to vote or to apply for a postal vote.

Ian Miller, Chief Executive and Returning Officer for Wyre Forest explained,

"This is your last chance to register to vote or apply for a postal vote before the forthcoming elections. If you are not already on the electoral register, you need to apply by Tuesday 20th April or you won't be able to vote in the District and General Elections on 6th May.  If you want a postal vote we also need to have received your application by no later than 5pm on 20th April.  Wyre Forest District Council is keen to ensure that no one misses their opportunity to vote. If you have any doubt that that you are on the register, it's important to check - particularly if you have moved house in the last 12 months."

Registering to vote takes only a few minutes. You can print off a form from the website of the independent elections watchdog, the Electoral Commission. You can also email  Wyre Forest District Council's election team  or by telephone on 01562 732739.
