Landlords' Forum
Landlords are being invited to a forum to help keep them up to
date with the latest changes in legislation. They will also
be offered money saving advice and find out about a new
accreditation scheme.
The forum has been organised by Wyre Forest District
Council. Guest speakers will give presentations on practical
ways for landlords to reduce and mitigate potential tax liabilities
and the Local Housing Allowance. The Council will also be
launching its new accreditation scheme for the private
sector. It is being developed to raise standards and to
recognise good practice within the private rented market.
Landlords will learn how they can become accredited and the
benefits to them.
Wyre Forest District Council is hosting the event, which is
being sponsored by CHG Property Services.
Councillor Tracey Onslow, Wyre Forest District Council's Cabinet
Member for Housing and Environmental Services said,
"This is a great opportunity to build stronger relationships
with landlords in the area. We recognise the important
contribution they make to housing and we want them to be involved
in helping to put together our schemes. We've already set up
a working group which includes landlords and agents and they're
working with the Council on projects such as the new accreditation
scheme. We are putting together a Landlord Consultation panel
too, so along with the forum there should be plenty of
opportunities for landlords to give us feedback. The forum
will also enable us to keep landlords up to date with the work
we're doing to improve the private rented sector."
The meeting is being held at Earl Baldwin Suite, Duke House,
Clensmore Street, Kidderminster on Friday 23rd October
2009 2.00pm – 5.00pm.
Any one who wishes to attend the forum should contact Linsey
Taylor, Wyre Forest District Council's Housing Services Officer on
