Learn to keep your purse safe event

Wyre Forest residents will get the chance to learn more about keeping their purses safe and general crime prevention at an event on 27th November in Kidderminster Town Centre's Bull Ring.

Members of the Wyre Forest Community Safety Partnership team, along with the police will be manning a stand from 10.00am to 1.00pm advising shoppers on how they can keep their purses safe and secure. Items such as alarms and bells will be available to visitors, at the team's discretion.

There will also be information relating to domestic abuse and how the Worcestershire Forum against Domestic Abuse will be supporting an international campaign called 'The 16 Days of Action'. The campaign runs from Wednesday 25th November until 10 December and a host of activities are planned.

Wyre Forest Community Safety Partnership Chair, Helen Dyke, said:
"With December almost on the doorstep, our thoughts turn to Christmas and all that extra shopping!  Love it or hate it, it means that our towns will be getting much busier and this presents an ideal opportunity for the purse thief.  Please make sure your purse or wallet is secure and out of sight in a place that a pick pocket would find difficult to reach without you knowing.  We will look forward to seeing you in Kidderminster's Bull Ring on 27th November."
