Special Winter Opening at Bewdley Museum
Residents and visitors to the Wyre Forest district now have the
opportunity to enjoy a visit to Bewdley Museum in the run up to
Christmas. The museum, which usually shuts at the end of October,
will open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during November and up to
20th December between 12 noon and 4 pm.
Wyre Forest District Council's Cabinet Member for Community and
Partnership Services, Councillor Marcus Hart said:
"I am delighted that a record number of people have enjoyed the
Museum this season following its refurbishment earlier in the year.
It is the first time that we will have opened to the public beyond
October and I hope that it will help to attract visitors into the
town, particular those arriving on the Severn Valley Railway."
Entry will continue to be free and all the usual activities will
be on offer. The air raid shelter will be open between 1 pm and 3
pm and exhibitions of local interest will be on display in the Wyre
Forest and Severn Galleries. The foundry café will also be open for
refreshments.
Councillor Hart added:
"It's always more difficult to find things to do as a family in the
winter that do not cost a lot of money. The museum is a great place
to visit and we will not be charging for entry. The extended
opening should benefit residents of the Wyre Forest district and
help to support local traders as Christmas approaches."
