Health and Safety at Work

Wyre Forest District Council’s Health and Safety team try to make sure that people working in the district are aware of health and safety hazards. Our objective is to help you to reduce the likelihood of accidents and dangerous occurrences. Using the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 as our guide we provide advice and training to employers, employees and the general public.

What we do

Along with the Health and Safety Executive, Wyre Forest District Council’s Health and Safety Team are responsible for making sure that employers and their employees are aware of and follow regulations laid down within the Health and Safety Act 1974 and associated legislation. To do this work we perform a number of duties:

  • We conduct health and safety inspections.
  • We provide advice and guidance, in addition to responding to service requests.
  • We accept and log statutory reports.
  • We undertake accident and incident investigations.
  • We exercise enforcement options.
