How to claim
Online
If you would like to make a claim for council tax benefit or
second adult rebate you can put in a claim
online.
In person
If you would prefer to go through the claim with someone please
visit one of the Worcestershire hub
offices.
You will need to bring the following information with you when
you come in to claim (please make sure you bring originals not
copies, we will scan them in with your claim so you don't have to
leave your originals behind):
Council tax benefit
- ID for everyone who lives in the property (eg birth
certificate, driving licence, passport).
- Proof of national insurance number (eg national insurance card,
old payslip, letters from the department for work and
pensions).
- Proof of your address (eg utility bill).
- The most recent 2 months statements for any bank/building
society account or savings accounts held by everyone who lives in
the property.
- Proof of any other savings, capital or investments anyone in
the property has.
- Proof of wages (last 2 payslips if paid monthly, last 3 if
paid fortnightly or last 5 if paid weekly) for everyone in the
property.
- Proof of any other income anyone in the property receives
(including any benefits, allowances, pensions or money paid in
board and lodgings).
- Proof of money paid out (eg for childcare, student fees
etc).
Second adult rebate
- ID for everyone who lives in the property (eg birth
certificate, driving licence, passport).
- Proof of national insurance number (eg national insurance card,
old payslip, letters from the department for work and
pensions).
- Proof of your address (eg utility bill).
- Proof of wages (last 2 payslips if paid monthly, last 3 if
paid fortnightly or last 5 if paid weekly) for the non-dependants
living with you.
- Proof of any other income the non-dependent living with
you receives (including any benefits, allowances,
pensions).
- The most recent 2 months statements for any bank/building
society account or savings accounts held by the non-dependent.
- Proof of any other savings, capital or investments the
non-dependent receives.
Please note this is only a guide - the advisor who goes through
your claim with you will advise you if you need to give us any more
information. If you do not have all of the information above don't
wait until you have it before putting your claim in, we can start
the claim with only some of it but we won't be able to pay you any
benefit until we have it all.
