How to claim

Online

If you would like to make a claim for council tax benefit or second adult rebate you can put in a claim online.

In person

If you would prefer to go through the claim with someone please visit one of the Worcestershire hub offices.

You will need to bring the following information with you when you come in to claim (please make sure you bring originals not copies, we will scan them in with your claim so you don't have to leave your originals behind):

Council tax benefit

  • Proof of national insurance number (eg national insurance card, old payslip, letters from the department for work and pensions).
  • Proof of your address (eg utility bill).
  • The most recent 2 months statements for any bank/building society account or savings accounts held by everyone who lives in the property.
  • Proof of any other savings, capital or investments anyone in the property has.
  • Proof of wages (last 2 payslips if paid monthly, last 3 if paid fortnightly or last 5 if paid weekly) for everyone in the property.
  • Proof of any other income anyone in the property receives (including any benefits, allowances, pensions or money paid in board and lodgings).
  • Proof of money paid out (eg for childcare, student fees etc).

Second adult rebate

  • ID for everyone who lives in the property (eg birth certificate, driving licence, passport).
  • Proof of national insurance number (eg national insurance card, old payslip, letters from the department for work and pensions).
  • Proof of your address (eg utility bill).
  • Proof of wages (last 2 payslips if paid monthly, last 3 if paid fortnightly or last 5 if paid weekly) for the non-dependants living with you.

Please note this is only a guide - the advisor who goes through your claim with you will advise you if you need to give us any more information. If you do not have all of the information above don't wait until you have it before putting your claim in, we can start the claim with only some of it but we won't be able to pay you any benefit until we have it all.
