Kidderminster Retail Initiative and Security Partnership (KRISP)

||
KRISP is an initiative aimed at cracking down on retail crime in Kidderminster, its mission being to drive shoplifters from the town centre.

Formerly known as Radio Link, the scheme (launched in 1994) is designed to provide the town with a fully integrated "Safer Shopping" scheme combining Radio Link and CCTV.

It is run independently of Wyre Forest District Council by a group whose membership currently consists of 54 retailers. The scheme covers the town centre, Crossley Retail Park, Comberton Hill and the Horsefair.

A number of new crime-busting schemes are being launched including

  • increased CCTV coverage
  • participation in the National Civil Recovery Programme (to recover the cost of crime from criminals)
  • introduction of a voluntary "Thumbs-Up Scheme" under which customers are asked to provide a thumbprint when using cheques and credit cards.

Anyone wishing to join KRISP should contact the Business Crime Reduction Co-ordinator on: 01562 753210.
