IntroductionThe Council has installed a seven-camera Close Circuit Television (CCTV) system in Kidderminster and is in the process of
completing installations of six cameras in Stourport-on-Severn and four cameras in Bewdley. The most common sorts of incidents
observed are cases of anti-social behaviour, theft and suspicious people/activity.Kidderminster
Cameras began operating in February 2005 and cover a large area of the town centre. So far almost 550 incidents have been
captured on camera. Police have arrested 49 people and the system has so far helped to locate 32 people reported missing or
wanted.
Stourport-on-Severn and Bewdley
Cameras began operating in July 2007 and cover much of the
2 town centres as well as a number of the local car parks. So far over 220 incidents have been captured on camera and 14 people
reported missing or wanted have been located.
Who monitors the CCTV system?
The cameras are controlled, monitored and recorded from Bromsgrove District Council's CCTV monitoring station.
A three year Agreement between Bromsgrove District Council (as the "service provider") and Wyre Forest District
Council (as the "client"), sets out details of the following matters regarding the control, monitoring and recording
of the system.
