Street Scene
The Street Scene section of Property and Operational Services Division provides a range of front line services, which contribute to ensuring that the district is clean, inspiring and valued.Street Scene is responsible for Street Cleansing, Street Furniture and Street Name Plates, Fly Tipping Removal, Litter Bins, Car Parks and Bus Shelters. A brief description of each service can be found below:
Street Cleansing
- Delivers a street cleansing service.
- Maintains a healthy, clean and inspiring environment, liaising with agencies such as Worcestershire County Council, Highways Partnership Unit, Environment Agency, Water Authorities and Wyre Forest Community Housing.
- Educates the community to improve standards of cleanliness.
- Works within legislative guidelines, taking enforcement actions where appropriate.
- Works with the community responding to environmental issues.
- Mechanically sweeps town centre areas and roads.
- Operates a range of public conveniences throughout the District and cleanses them on a daily basis.
Steet Furniture
- Installs, repairs and maintains street furniture.
- This service is delivered by liaising with agencies such as Worcestershire County Council, Highways Partnership Unit, Environment Agency, Water Authorities and Wyre Forest Community Housing.
Street Name Plates
- Installs replacement signs.
- Maintains and repairs damaged name plates.
- This service is delivered by liaising agencies such as Worcestershire County Council, Highways Partnership Unit, Environment Agency, Water Authorities and Wyre Forest Community Housing.
Fly Tipping Removal
- Responds to environmental issues such as litter blackspots, flytipping, flyposting, graffiti, animal roadkills and general cleansing problems.
Litter Bins
- Empties all town centre litter bins.
- Empties litter bins in all urban areas.
- Empties litter bins in rural areas.
Car Parks
- Provides car parking facilities.
- Provides suitable car parking spaces for disabled requirements.
- Ensures car parks are secure, cleansed and maintained regularly.
- Administrates issue of excess charge tickets and penalty fines.
- Ensures the safety of the public by patrolling and monitoring activity.
- Works with community groups/local businesses to enhance tourism.
- Provides a range of prices for differing car parking requirements.
Bus Shelters
- Installs, repairs and maintains bus shelters.
- This service is delivered by liaising agencies such as Worcestershire County Council, Highways Partnership Unit, Environment Agency, Water Authorities and Wyre Forest Community Housing.
