Community Sports Coach Scheme

||

Through partnership working with The Sports Partnership-Herefordshire and Worcestershire and Sports Coach UK, Wyre Forest District Council employs a full time Community Sports Coach (CSC) who delivers multi-skills and girls football sessions in school and community environments.

The CSC works closely with the Wyre Forest School Sport Partnership (SSP) and other partners, to deliver high quality multi-skills and girls football sessions in a fun and safe manner.

Partners to the scheme include:

The Community Sports Coach scheme is now in it's 4th year.

Multi-skills

The CSC delivers extra curricular multi-skills sessions within primary schools. This includes lunchtime and after-school clubs. The sessions consist of fun activities which are aimed at improving a child's Long Term Athlete Development by improving their A,B,C's (Agility, Balance, Co-ordination).

Girls Football

The CSC also delivers extra curricular football sessions for girls only in Wyre Forest primary and secondary schools. These sessions also run during lunchtimes and after-school clubs. The sessions are aimed at increasing participation in sport, and strengthening links between schools and clubs. This is with a view to supporting teams in the Wyre Forest, encouraging more girls to join teams and hopefully to discover the next Marieanne Spacey or Kelly Smith!
