A surprise around every corner!

Set in a historic Butchers Shambles fascinating displays give an insight into the trades and crafts of the Wyre Forest area. Hands-on activities and regular craft demonstrations. Plenty to see and do for the whole family, brass foundry, jails, resident crafts people, air raid shelter tours, varied exhibitions and events, lovely gardens & café.

Opening times

Museum and Café open daily:

10.00 am - 4.30 pm daily (2nd May to 30th September)
11.00 am - 4.00 pm daily (1st October to 31st October)
12.00 pm - 4.00 pm Fri, Sat, Sun (1st November to 20th December)
Last admission 30 minutes before closing - FREE ADMISSION

Buildings and Displays

Museum+visit+1+100 The Museum’s collection is housed in grade ii listed buildings, including a Butcher’s Shambles, Brass Foundry and Jails.

Demonstrations


Traditional methods of making ropes, bricks, clay pipes, and willow baskets are brought to life with daily demonstrations.

Events and Exhibitions

The museum offers a varied programme of exhibitions and events throughout the year with appeal for all ages. The temporary exhibitions are showcased in the Severn and Wyre Forest Galleries and cover both local topics and touring exhibitions. Admission is free to all events which range from arts to entertainment.

Workshops and Craft Courses

The museum offers a wide range of workshops for all ages. Young people can enjoy fun craft based activities in a safe environment from quick taster session to full one day workshops. Adults can find their creative sue by learning new skills with expert tuition from our resident craft workers.

Museum Collections

The museum’s collection is based around the trades and crafts of the Wyre Forest area.  Many of the items can be seen around the museum in the wide range of permanent displays. The reserve collection is shown through a varied programme of temporary exhibitions.

Museum Café and Gardens

Museum+visit+5+100 The Museum Café is set within the attractive walled gardens. Home made refreshments are served all day in a delightful setting.

Stroll around the delightful museum grounds and the adjoining Jubilee Gardens. A perfect place to relax and unwind.
