Reason 1
If your change of circumstances means you will receive more benefit we can only pay the increase award from the actual date of the change in circumstances if you tell us within one month of the change. If you tell us after one month has passed we can only increase your benefit from the date you notify us. This means that you would lose out on backdated increased benefit unless exceptional circumstances have delayed you from telling us sooner.
Reason 2
Telling us quickly of a change in circumstances will allow us to speed up the process of notifying you of your revised award.
Reason 3
Telling us immediately will reduce any potential overpayment, which will be recovered from you.

If you disagree with anything we do.
You can ask us to explain anything about how we have calculated your benefit.
If you disagree with our decision you may ask us to look at it again. If you remain dissatisfied you can ask for an independent review by officers not involved in your case. Then if you still disagree you can have the decision reviewed by an Independent Tribunal.
