Introduction

At Wyre Forest District Council we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so follow many of the available standards and guidelines.

Some of our pages from legacy sites, or those developed and maintained by 3rd parties, might not currently conform to these standards. However, we are actively engaging with content providers across the authority to ensure that all future webpages are compliant with W3C guidelines for accessibility (AA standard)

We have recently moved our website to the APLAWS+ Content Management System to enable greater control over our webpages and to ensure conformity to these standards.

All content images used in this site include descriptive alt tags. Decorative and spacer graphics include null or * alt tags.

This website is optimised for a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and has been tested on Windows and Linux with:
Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.2, 5.5, and 6.0
Firefox 1.0.7,1.5, 2.0.x

This website relies on CSS2, which is unsupported by IE 4 and below and Netscape 4 and below. It can still be accessed on these browsers but with no styling applied to the pages. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The size of all of the text on this site can be changed by users of visual browsers. All key content, including all body text and navigation menus can be increased or decreased by users without breaking the page layout. To make text larger or smaller, use the text options in the 'View' menu of your browser.

We try to follow best practice guidelines for plain English to make this website easy to read, understand and as jargon free as possible.
